There are two international airports in Montenegro. Tivat airport which located on the coast and Podgorica the capital's airport is just a half an hours drive to the coast. Both airports are in the process of a multi-million euro program of investment, to refurbish the airports to international standards and expand capacity of passengers, in particular to meet the requirements to accommodate budget airlines.

As of May 2006, there were no year round direct flights between the UK or Ireland to Montenegro, only seasonal. However it is possible to fly to Cilipi airport south of Dubrovnik which only 15 minutes drive to the Montenegrin border year round. Flight times are generally under three hours from the UK and Ireland to these three airports.
