Inflation in Montenegro in 2009 will range from 2.5 to 5.5 percent, and
many companies will be forced to reduce prices. This is an assessment
of the council of the Montenegrin Central Bank in the session presided
by Governor Ljubisa Krgovic. The Central Bank expects a continuation of
the tendency of reduction of the annual inflation rate this year.
The council also reached a decision on the unique rate of mandatory
reserve on all deposits in the amount of 11 percent. This measure
should improve the liquidity of the banking system, and banks have
until June to adjust to the new decision. (Source: Pobjeda)
