Montenegro will emerge as one of the top holiday destinations for 2010, according to travel specialists Thomson and First Choice. The
European country features in a list of 10 destinations that the two
sister companies are tipping as 2010's hottest holiday spots. Thomson
is so confident that Montenegro is on the up with travellers that it is
introducing the first direct flights with a UK carrier to its coastal
town Tivat. Croatia's lesser-known neighbour, Montenegro is an intriguing maze of ancient
towns, peaceful seaside spots, looming mountains and glistening lakes.
As well as relaxed beach breaks and cultural city weekends, the
landscape offers a range of outdoor activities such as bracing hiking
and whitewater rafting. Nearly all the countries on Thomson and First Choice's hot list - which includes Turkey, Egypt, Mexico, Tunisia, Greece and Morocco - are outside the eurozone, indicating that British holidaymakers are
fed up with the bad exchange rates between pound sterling and the euro,
and are looking further a field for a better value break. This includes the Caribbean island Cuba,
which Thomson says will experience a flurry of British tourists next
year who want to experience the country before it is overrun with US
visitors. (Source: worldtravelguide.net )
